Thanks to all the students and friends who attended the Royce Gracie seminar on Thursday, January 19th!! (SALEM NEWS STORY INSIDE!)

Royce was absolutely amazing and everyone in attendance walked away with some very useful knowledge and an even deeper respect for the legend that is Royce Gracie.

We really appreciate the support of the members of the academy for coming out and making this seminar possible. Your attendance at these events assures that we can continue to hold seminars like this well into the future.

North Shore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy Head Instructor Danny Morera promoted to first degree black belt!

November 5th, 2011 – Professor Roberto Maia, head instructor at Gracie Barra Boston, called in fellow Carlos Gracie Jr black belt, Professor Marcio Feitosa, to help celebrate the 16th anniversary of Gracie Barra Boston. Students gathered from far and wide to take place in the Feitosa seminar, and enjoy a round of promotions followed by a barbecue.

Among those promoted was head instructor of North Shore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy, Danny Morera. Danny received the first stripe on his black belt, and is now officially a first degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Professor Maia. Danny Morera teaches full time at his academy in Salem, MA.

North Shore BJJ Fighters Win Medals at Grappler’s Quest!

North Shore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy’s own Dan Bowden earned two medals at Grappler’s Quest on September 17th in Boston.

The sole school representative, Dan took home a bronze medal in his weight class in Gi Jiu Jitsu, and added a silver in the open weight take-down competition that followed the tournament. A big congrats to Dan!
